Rules for Marble Roll Day

1. The ramp must be 61 cm (24 inches) long.

 
2. The marble must be held on the ramp and touch the ground (rolling surface) at one end.

 
3. The marble can be let go-not pushed or thrown-from any place on the ramp.

 
4. The ramp can be any shape or width and be made of any material. It can have grooves, sides, and other design features.

 
5. The distance the marble rolls is measured from the place where the ramp touches the ground to the place where the marble stops rolling.

 
6. The height of the release point is the straight line distance from the place at which you hold your marble before letting it go to the ground. The distance cannot be greater than 61 centimeters (the maximum height of the ramp).

 
7. On Marble Roll Day, each group, pair, or individual may have only one try (roll the marble once).
